While CM Punk prepares for the Octagon, he doesn't care much about people wanting him to return to the squared circle.

Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and officially departed from the organization last June. He then signed with UFC in December and he said it sometimes "irks" him when he's asked about possibly returning to the WWE.
"Yes and no," Punk told RedEyeChicago.com when asked if it bothers him when fans ask him about returning to wrestling. "It irks me a little bit because I think it's the same people that are asking it. But at the same time you have to roll with the punches because it comes with the territory. It's probably what I'm most known for, and there are fans out there that miss me in that venue. I am not one to draw in the past and I'm sailing on."

Punk has admitted in recent interviews that he doesn't watch the WWE product anymore, especially now that his wife, former Diva AJ Lee, is retired from the company.
Though Punk walked out, Lee remained a part of the company for over a year after his departure, but she retired after WrestleMania 31 in March.
There has been a lot of speculation that the three-time Divas Champion left due to WWE doctor Chris Amann filing a lawsuit against her husband for libel over comments he made about him on his friend Colt Cabana's podcast.
Punk's first fight in the Octagon was slated for late 2015, but it has since been noted by the former WWE Champion and UFC president Dana White that his debut will likely be pushed back to early 2016.
The Best in the World has been training out of Roufusport in Milwaukee and has received mixed reactions from fans, fighters and spectators around the UFC realm.
Punk did note that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan is one of many people who reached out to him to give him a vote of confidence in his new pursuit. He also took some shots at the WWE.
"I thought it was pretty cool," he said. "Everybody in WWE whether they admit it or not are big fans of the UFC. Like everything else, they are 10 years behind the curve on everything, but they are slowly warming up to MMA. Now it's all Ronda Rousey. But a couple of years ago when I mentioned her they told me the sport was despicable. Everything they are doing now is something I told them five years ago. They live in a bubble. When you are on the road this much, you are 'all in' and nothing else matters; I lived in a bubble. They built this empire and they are the best at what they do. But they still have no f-king idea what goes on outside their bubble."
