Tom Brady Injury: New England Patriots Quarterback Nearly Perfect In Preseason Game After Knee Injury

If New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady felt any ill effects from his knee injury during the Patriots 25-21 preseason victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, it didn't show.

Brady was nearly perfect, going 11-for-12 for 107 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown during the game.

Brady suffered a knee injury during a scrimmage against the Bucs on Wednesday, but was resilient in the preseason game Friday, putting Patriots fans at ease.

Brady will lead the Patriots against the Buccaneers in a game that counts on Sept. 22.

Upon Brady's exit in the second quarter, Ryan Mallett took over and stayed in for part of the third. Mallett went 12-for-20 for 137 yards and a touchdown. While the top two quarterbacks played well, it was a nightmarish night for Tim Tebow.

Tebow went just 1-for-7 for negative-1 yard while throwing an interception and rushing for 30 yards on six attempts. Tebow acknowledged his frustration in his performance after the game.

"You want to score every time you get the ball, Tebow told USA Today."You want to make every throw. Some things we did well. Some areas have got to get better and got to improve."

Despite Tebow's misfortunes, Pats fans will be happy about Brady's performance. Brady, entering his 14th season with the club, was 401-for-637 last year for 4,827 yards with 34 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Patriots to a 12-4-0 record and a divisional playoff win over the Houston Texans, before the team fell to the eventual-Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens in the divisional playoffs.

While Brady's knee may not be 100 percent, on Friday his arm was just fine.
