Tim Tebow hasn't thrown an NFL pass since 2012, and yet it is becoming more and more likely he will be with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 as their No. 3 quarterback. According to Philly Voice, Tebow is much more to Chip Kelly than overhyped camp depth at the position.

"Over the last few weeks, chatter among some people who are plugged in with the team believe that the Eagles didn't just sign Tim Tebow because he's a nice guy, or a 'camp arm.' Their sentiment is that the Eagles not only intend to keep him, but they intend to use him," Jimmy Kempski reported.

Tebow was one of the NFL's most polarizing players from 2010 to 2012 because of his positive record amid myriad problems with how he played his position. Tebow was primarily a runner under center, and drew laughs from most fans because of his inaccuracy throwing the ball. Despite a career 8-6 record as a starter, and an overtime playoff win in 2011 over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tebow was traded to the Jets in 2012 and failed to make an impact.

Tebow is an interesting fit in Philadelphia for a few reasons. First, he is the only quarterback on the roster that is able to unlock many of the plays in Kelly's playbook from Oregon that involved a quarterback with mobility. Sam Bradford, expected to start Week 1, is fragile and backup Mark Sanchez is athletic, but not able to inspire defenses to alter their game plan.

Barkley is Tebow's main competition, but he did not do much when given a chance to play in the regular season. In 2013 Barkley threw four interceptions and no touchdowns. Meanwhile, defensive end Brandon Graham has been talking up Tebow.

"Tim Tebow is going to shock a lot of people because he's going to make the team. I think he'll play a lot."
