Amir Khan looks like he's missed the boat on a Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout in September, and he may never get the payday he covets from fighting "Money." According to those close to Mayweather, Khan could have gotten the call this fall if he had talked less about how he will be able to beat the pound-for-pound king.

"I think he killed the fight because he started talking too much," Floyd Mayweather's uncle Jeff Mayweather said. "It got to the point where he probably got under Floyd's skin enough that he said 'f**k it, I'm not giving you the fight, not because I can't beat you, just because I'm not going to give you the payday everyone else is begging for.'"

Khan has begun talking up a potential fight vs. Manny Pacquiao in Dubai, but another major fight in the welterweight division could be made. In a chat with Sport 360 Khan said there is a real possibility of taking on unbeaten Keith "One-Time" Thurman.

"Keith is a good fighter. He calls himself one-time, but it should be 'sometimes' because it's just not really happening for him lately, with the level going up around him," Khan said.

"I like him and I'd take that fight. He's obviously built his name up in America knocking people out and beating a lot of the people I've beaten. Next year could be the biggest year of my life. Maybe a Kell Brook fight could happen, maybe a Keith Thurman fight could happen. If it makes sense then definitely."

The names Khan referred to are Luis Collazo and Julio Diaz. Thurman stopped both opponents, while Khan beat them both by unanimous decision; it is notable that Khan was knocked down in the fourth round against Diaz. Khan also has three losses on his resume, two of them by knockout.
