Al Harrington Predicts Washington Wizards Will Make Playoffs, Believes His Leadership Is Missing Piece

Al Harrington insists he’s the man to finally provide the Washington Wizards with the veteran, off-the-court leadership the team has long been lacking.

If Harrington, who signed as a veteran free agent for the league minimum, can accomplish that feat alone the Wiz’s investment will easily rate as money well spent.

“Just watching the way they finished the year when they were healthy, I just feel like this is a great opportunity where I could come in, help and try to push them over the top,” Harrington told Comcast Sports e. “The talent that’s on the roster with the guys that got a little bit of experience, with the young guys, I think it’s a good mix. Adding me to it, I can definitely help these guys.”

Beyond the intangibles, Harrington brings a career 13.7 scoring average to go along with six rebounds and two assists.

“I’m going to try and get in here early, try to get with the guys and have a like a mini-camp amongst the players the players where we can all get in here, start working out, start working to that goal of being a playoff team this year.”

With a roster that also features John Wall, Bradley Beal, Nene. Emeka Okafor and rookie forward Otto Potter.
