Tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Dodgers (54-42) and New York Mets (49-46) open up a four-game set live from Citi Field in Queens, N.Y.

Los Angeles continues a 10-game road trip it is 3-3 on thus far while New York opens up a 10-match homestand after going 2-4 on a road swing through St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

The Dodgers are coming in on the heels of dropping two of three against the Atlanta Braves while the Mets had the same results against the Washington Nationals.

Clayton Kershaw (7-6, 2.68 ERA) takes the mound for Los Angeles while New York counters with Bartolo Colon and he is 9-8 this season with a 4.86 ERA.

Kershaw enters play with a 20-inning scoreless streak and he leads the MLB with 174 strikeouts and 11.75 K's per nine innings. According to MLB.com, Kershaw is 5-0 with a 1.58 ERA against the Mets in his career.

Colon has had a rough stretch lately and he has yielded at least eight hits in four of his last five starts as well as seven runs in two of those outings.

Colon faces a Dodgers lineup that is paced by first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who is third in the National League with 189 total bases and ranks first on the club in batting average (.292), homers (21) and RBI (60).

The Mets counter with an offense that comes in with the league's worst team batting average at .235. Curtis Granderson leads the club with 14 homers and has added 31 RBI while notching a .251 batting average.

As the standings go, Los Angeles enters play atop the NL West with a 2.5-game lead over the San Francisco Giants while New York is in second in the NL East, three games behind the division-leading Nationals and 2.5 games out in the wild-card race.
