The Philadelphia Eagles received some good news this week, even if it isn't music to Mark Sanchez's ears. According to newly acquired quarterback Sam Bradford, he will be ready to fully participate at the start of training camp.

"If I'm not ready for 11 on 11 by training camp, then something has gone horribly wrong,'' Bradford said. "That's the plan right now. We're going to keep plugging away and be ready when camp starts.''

Bradford, who will make $13 million this season, has played in seven games in the last two seasons, and missed all of 2014 with a torn ACL. It was Bradford's second torn ACL in as many seasons.

Sanchez, who has been told he will compete with Bradford for the starting gig, started eight games for Philadelphia last season with mixed results. Sanchez was 4-4 as a starter with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Sanchez was turned over consistently, getting picked off in all but two of his eight starts. He also presided over a three-game losing streak in Weeks 13 through 15 that cost the Eagles a playoff spot. In those three games he was picked off four times and averaged just 274 yards per game.

The Eagles also have controversial quarterback Tim Tebow in camp competing for the No. 3 role-and likely a spot on the team-with incumbent backup Matt Barkley. While a third-string QB battle is usually not noteworthy, in Philadelphia it looms large. Not only is Tebow a lightning rod for attention, the No. 3 quarterback for Philadelphia could be pressed into backup duty if the notoriously fragile Bradford suffers another serious injury.
