WWE doctor Chris Amann's lawsuit against CM Punk and Colt Cabana is moving forward despite the co-defendants pleas for the case to be dismissed.

According to The Washington Post, Amann's $1 million lawsuit against Punk and Cabana for libel is continuing as Cook County Circuit Court judge Janet Adams Brosnahan dismissed the co-defendants request to dismiss the case on Monday.

This stems from Punk appearing on Cabana's podcast last November and bashing Dr. Amann, claiming that he misdiagnosed him on several occasions.

Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and appeared on Cabana's show nearly a year later to finally reveal the reasons why he left the company.

Among his myriad motivations for leaving after the Royal Rumble, Punk claimed that Dr. Amann tried to dismiss a concussion he claimed to have sustained at the event. The former WWE Champion also claimed that it wasn't the only time Dr. Amann misdiagnosed an issue he had.

Per the report, the judge has ordered that Punk and Cabana submit answers to the 15-page complaint levied on them from Amann and the two have until Aug. 24 to do so. The two will have to admit to or deny the allegations or say they lack sufficient knowledge to answer the complaint.

After he left the WWE, Punk signed with UFC last December and his first fight is expected to happen in early 2016. "The Best in the World" has been training out of Roufusport in Milwaukee for his debut.

Punk's wife AJ Lee remained with the WWE after he left, but she retired after WrestleMania 31 this past March, with the speculation being that she did so due to the impending lawsuit.

While Punk has been done with the WWE for quite some time, he's set to battle Dr. Amann in a lawsuit along with Cabana.
