The Vigilante's return to action may be late in the summer.
There have been a lot of rumors that Sting is set to return and have a match at SummerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in New York City, but it appears as though it could take a few weeks for him to strike a comeback.
According to The Wrestling Observer, Sting's return to Vince McMahon's promotion will be very late in the game when they integrate him back into the mix.
The rumors have been that Sting will return to align himself with Roman Reigns in his battle against the newly reunited Wyatt Family.
Reigns lost to Bray Wyatt this past Sunday at Battleground after Luke Harper interfered, causing a reunion between two of the three original Wyatt Family members.
The reported plan is for Sting to return and help Reigns in his effort to thwart them off. There have also been reports that Dean Ambrose and a new member of the Wyatts could be added into the feud to build toward a six-man bout at SummerSlam.
It is said that the plans are for Sting to return late in the game, so the feud will likely continue to develop without him for awhile until he comes in to save the day. The belief is that the WWE wants to make his return a shock and generate huge buzz for the match.
Sting made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 31 in March, losing to Triple H in a match that saw interference from the original nWo and D-Generation X.
It was unknown if he would return after that one match, but now it appears as though he'll wrestle for the second time ever in a WWE ring at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
