There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Dolph Ziggler and his WWE status and the Superstar recently discussed what he would do if he left the WWE.

Undertaker To Return To WWE For SummerSlam?

There were rumors that The Showoff was thinking about leaving the WWE when his contract was set to expire then there was speculation that he re-signed with the organization. That was followed up with more reports that he in fact was still mulling his future.

According to PWInsider, Ziggler has re-signed with the WWE on a new deal despite being written off of television two weeks ago.

Ziggler spoke with Savage Henry Magazine prior to re-inking a deal with Vince McMahon's company and he revealed what his plans would have been had he walked away from wrestling.

"In the last year I got an agent and a manager, just because I'm constantly asked to be a part of different outside projects," Ziggler said. "Even though I only get a few days off, I do not stop. Whether it's getting some stage time at an open mic, or flying to L.A. to watch a ton of stand-up shows. I'm slowly moving into movies and tons of outside projects in the next few months. I'm finally starting to book some stand-up dates too. At the end of the day, it's just to be a better WWE Superstar [and] also make myself a bigger asset, that is in demand. There's a few months left on my current contract and I'm in the process of deciding. I love this business more than anything; hopefully it loves having me."

Despite being booked questionably after building momentum by being the sole survivor for Team Cena at the 2014 edition of Survivor Series in November, Ziggler said 2015 is going well for him.

"2015 is actually going pretty well," he said. "A lot of this business is timing and luck. There are hundreds - maybe thousands - in the world who are better than me, yet here I am 11 years later, just a step outside that coveted gold circle, fighting for my career every step of the way. It's not always about wins and losses, but winning two Survivor Series matches is something I will never forget."

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been feuding with Rusev and is in a love angle with Lana, but he was written off of television after the Bulgarian Brute beat him down on Monday Night RAW earlier this month.

The attack and the WWE saying Ziggler was "out indefinitely" led to more rumors that he might be getting set to bolt the promotion.

Wrestlingheadlines.com, however, reports that Ziggler was kayfabe injured so that he could go to Vancouver to film the upcoming WWE Studios thriller 6:42 where he plays a cop who has to overcome his past while dealing with a plot to blow up a child with a bomb strapped to their chest.

Ziggler should return to the WWE in time to build toward a match at SummerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
