Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao obliterated pay-per-view records with their "Fight of the Century" on May 2, but their $100 price tag delivered a dissatisfying bout for many of the fans who purchased it. It's unreasonable to expect Mayweather's next fight to generate that level of revenue, so instead it may be televised on CBS.

According to CBS Sports Mayweather is considering a short list of opponents and giving serious thought to airing the fight on network television, although it is up in the air whether CBS is willing to take that big of a financial risk. Mayweather is typically guaranteed $30 million or more for his pay-per-view before he steps in the ring and any revenue from pay-per-view sales, merchandise and tickets are even calculated.

If the fight were televised on CBS, the revenue he'd typically draw from would have to come from an agreed-upon number based off expected ad revenue. CBS noted that 30-second spots for the Super Bowl cost $4.2 million, but for typical sporting events that figure drops to the $400,000-$750,000 range.

Mayweather also does not have an opponent yet. He has not made his list public, and the only names he has mentioned are in the running are also-rans Andre Berto (30-3-0) and Karim Mayfield (19-2-1). Amir Khan was the name most boxing observers gravitated toward once Mayweather defeated Pacquiao, but he hasn't been brought up by Mayweather's camp.

Khan has been calling out Mayweather since 2014, and is now growing more frustrated with not knowing if he'll get the call for September 12.

"I just don't know why he's playing these little games, I think it's unprofessional really from a person like Floyd Mayweather who is renowned as one of the best fighters ever," Khan said.

If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't then there will be a plan B to move onto.""He is playing these little games just to look for every little advantage that he can get. But I'm not going to let it get to me, I'm just going to keep calm and collected."

Keith "One Time" Thurman is also in the mix after defeating Luis Collazo on Saturday on Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN. Thurman escaped trouble in Round 5, and Collazo was unable to get off his stool after Round 7.
