Adam Eaton hit his sixth homer of the season for Chicago on Tuesday and they held on to win in the bottom of the 11th to take control of the series. Jose Reyes and Josh Donaldson each knocked in two runs in the loss for Toronto.

R.A. Dickey (3-9, 5.02 ERA) takes the ball for the Blue Jays while the White Sox counter with Jeff Samardzija and he is 5-4 with a 4.33 ERA thus far this season.

After five straight quality starts, Dickey is coming in off a rough outing where he yielded five runs to the Detroit Tigers in 5.1 innings.

Samardzija, meanwhile, had a no-decision last time out against the Baltimore Orioles and has lasted at least seven innings in six straight starts and nine of his last 10. He's been a trade target of the Blue Jays and has a dazzling 0.64 ERA in two career starts against them.

Samardzija faces a Toronto lineup that has been paced by Donaldson, who is in the top five in the American League in many categories, including first in total bases (189) and runs (65) and second in RBI (60), among others.

Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista leads the AL with 65 walks and is third in the Junior Circuit with 59 RBI.

The White Sox respond with a lineup that is led by first baseman Jose Abreu, who leads the team in batting average (.294), homers (14) and RBI (45).

In the standings, Toronto enters in third place in the AL East, 2.5 games behind the first-place New York Yankees while Chicago is in the bottom of the AL Central, 11 games behind the division-leading Kansas City Royals.

The Blue Jays look to win the series while the White Sox hope for a split when they clash at U.S. Cellular Field this afternoon in Chicago.
