Poor Eugenie Bouchard: She is on an incredible downward spiral in 2015 and is suffering from a torn abdominal muscle. And she also has realized she is no Brandi Chastain.

USA TODAY Sports' For the Win reported that during Bouchard's 7-6, 6-4 loss to Ying-Ying Duan in the first round of Wimbledon, the star-crossed Canadian tennis player had the audacity to wear a black sports bra under her white outfit for the match.

Eugenie Bouchard didn't know she was in a slump despite losing 10 of her last 11 matches

Technically speaking, she violated the event's dress code.

"Competitors must be dressed in suitable tennis attire that is almost entirely white and this applies from the point at which the player enters the court surround," the Wimbledon official website states, as reported by The Daily Mail.

"Any undergarments that either are or can be visible during play (including due to perspiration) must also be completely white except for a single trim of color no wider than one centimeter (10mm). In addition, common standards of decency are required at all times."

According to The Daily Mail, umpire Louise Engzell checked to see whether Bouchard was in violation of the dress code but ultimately took no action against the No. 12 seed.

Bouchard was asked after the match whether she knew her bra strap was a cause of concern for tournament officials.

I was not aware of that at all," Bouchard said. "And no one told me anything about my bra."

Chastain made the black sports bra famous when she shed her jersey after hitting the game-winning penalty kick in a shootout of the 1999 Women's World Cup championship match against China, exposing her black sports bra.

Bouchard has not experience much winning this year. She has lost 12 of her last 14 matches and said in a Wimbledon post-match interview she was not prepared for the Grand Slam event on grass because she had discovered she had a tear in her abdominal muscles.

She wanted to play at Wimbledon but was unable to do much preparation. Currently ranked No. 12 in the world, Bouchard is headed for another big tumble after having reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last year.
