When the biggest party of the summer comes to New York City, could ESPN be on the scene?

3 Reasons Triple H vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam Is Best For Business

Former WWE announcer and current ESPN on-air personality Jonathan Coachman took to his official Twitter account in an attempt to bring the two companies together for SummerSlam.

Coachman proposed on Twitter that he'd like to bring ESPN's SportsCenter on the road for WWE SummerSlam, which emanates live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Aug. 23.

5 Best New York Moments In SummerSlam History

ESPN doesn't usually cover professional wrestling unless something huge happens, such as Brock Lesnar opting not to re-sign with UFC in favor of sticking with Vince McMahon's company prior to WrestleMania 31 this past March.

Lesnar is expected to headline the WWE's biggest show of the summer, but it remains to be seen whether or not ESPN would actually consider the project, which appears to be a long shot.

The WWE is returning to New York City for SummerSlam for the first time since it went live from Madison Square Garden in 1998 and comes back to New York State for the first time since the spectacular emanated from the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in 2002.

It also marks the first SummerSlam event to ever take place in Brooklyn.

After six straight years of holding the annual August event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles from 2009-14, the WWE has opted to bring it across to the East Coast, breaking the streak.

The WWE always tries to make SummerSlam a standout show, so if ESPN were to ever get involved that could be big for the company, though it could conflict with their pre-show on the WWE Network.

While it is still just under two months away, there have been plenty of rumors surrounding the card for the biggest show of the summer, including a possible Seth Rollins vs. Triple H clash and a speculated contest between Lesnar and Randy Orton.

It's not even Independence Day yet, but the biggest party of the summer for the WWE is already heating up.
