Seattle continues a nine-game road trip it is 1-1 on to this point while Los Angeles resumes a nine-game homestand that it has a 3-2 mark on thus far.

The Mariners topped the Angels 3-1 in the series-opener on Friday while L.A. got even on Saturday by picking up a 4-2 victory.

Felix Hernandez (10-4, 3.24 ERA) takes the hill for Seattle while Los Angeles counters with Hector Santiago and he is 4-4 with a 2.68 ERA thus far this season.

Hernandez gave up a season-high nine hits in 6.2 innings in a loss to the Kansas City Royals on Monday.

Santiago, meanwhile, held the Houston Astros to one run on two hits in six innings.

Cole Calhoun launched his seventh home run of the seson in what was a two-run shot in the Angels' victory on Saturday while Mike Zunino hit his fifth round-tripper of the season for the Mariners in the loss in what was a solo shot.

In the standings in the American League West, Los Angeles enters in second place, four games behind first-place Houston, while Seattle sits in fourth place, eight games behind the Astros.
