What They're Saying
China assistant head coach Weiwei Chang (via FIFA): "All the players were wonderful, and put on a spectacular, resilient and brave performance [against Cameroon]. They fought like warriors for over 90 minutes and we want to thank them all. We [the coaches] believe in our players and they have confidence and motivation. We have made tremendous improvement in the past two or three years. This is a young squad full of energy, which can reach higher goals in the future."
USA head coach Jill Ellis (via FIFA): "We knew we would have a challenging game because Colombia are a very good opponent. I thought we controlled most of the ball and I had faith that at some point we would breakthrough and we are happy to advance. I thought we stroked the ball around pretty well at times. Many of the goals in World Cup football come from set-plays and that is the way it is. I know that the players that come in [for suspended players] will be confident of stepping in and doing well. I have utmost confidence in the players we have."
