There has been a slew of buzz among basketball fanatics for the highly anticipated 2015 NBA Draft. Unlike the NFL, the NBA holds its selection draft in just one night. One night to pick 60 of the best players, to create a chance to win now, or build your team up from scratch. Owners,GMs and head coaches all have to sit together and make the best decision for their respective franchises.

For players, this is surely an exhausting and exhilarating process--going through the combine, workouts, interviews; essentially a job interview for the gig most have been training for their entire lives.

For the fans, it’s captivating, as thry get to play the role of the expert and healthily debate about who should be taken with a certain pick, and when.

Meanwhile, the draft itself is more accessible for fans to attend than ever before. The league has made a conscious effort over the last few years to turn it into a major media event.

There are plenty of reasons to be excited for the NBA Draft, but here are five of the best.

The Trades

Every year there are trade rumors on draft night involving a high pick and a highly talented veteran player. This year is no different with the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly inquiring about Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins. Teams typically wait till draft night to make splashes on their rosters or potentially have blockbuster trades. Just like the deal that brought the Boston Celtic big 3 together in the summer of 2007.

The Talent

The draft showcases talent from all over the world. Both American and foreign-born players are invited to the event so that fans can see the future of the NBA.

Sleeper Picks

Not every single player in the draft is worthy of a first round selection, that’s just the honesty of the situation. However, there are always players that get picked late or in the second round that end up making a name for themselves. Rashad Lewis is a perfect example of that. Lewis was a 32nd overall pick back in 1998 and ended up being a key piece in Seattle and Orlando's success. It goes to show that the talent picked in the later rounds could outperform the talent drafted earlier.

2015's Location

The 2015 NBA Draft is in Brooklyn (Barclays Center), meaning that New York is hosting the biggest offseason event once again--it also played host to the biggest regular season event (the 2015 All-Star Game). The city is already known for being the mecca of basketball, so anytime both events can be in either Madison Square Garden or at Barclays, people will definitely show up.

The Fans Reactions

What would the draft be without the fans and their reactions to every moment that happens during the selection process. From the boos, cheers and chants, the fans make their voices heard. Sometimes there is the camera shot of fans shell shock when their favorite team picks a random player they’ve never heard of and have to make the best of a bad situation.
