CM Punk returned to the squared circle -- at least in a new music video.

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Thursday Night

In what might be the closest the Best in the World comes to returning to a wrestling ring again, Punk appeared in the official music video for Frank Turner's "The Next Storm."

Punk, looking more like a UFC fighter than a professional wrestler, wrestles another man throughout the music video and lays down for the three-count when he gets pinned at the end of it.

The Best in the World has also recently made waves because his favorite hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games to win the Stanley Cup for the third time in six years on Monday night.

Punk had a notable Twitter feud with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan during the series, and a new T-shirt depicting Punk's face as the Blackhawks logo was released on ProWrestlingTees.com:

The former WWE Champion didn't mince words when he was feuding with Hogan, going so far as to call him a "piece of garbage" in a video after one of the Stanley Cup Final games.

"Hey everybody, this is CM Punk and obviously I'm live and in living color here at the Madhouse on Madison in front of all of these Blackhawks fans," Punk said in a video he posted from the United Center. "And we want the Cup. Now normally, the less said about Hulk Hogan the better, but he spoke my name first. So I'd like to point out that the Tampa Bay organization as a whole should be embarrassed for hitching their trailer to such a piece of garbage that pronounced the captain's name wrong [Steven Stamkos] and then called coach Jon Cooper, Jon Connor. Ladies and gentlemen, we're in Chicago and we're real hockey fans and we want the Cup. Tampa Bay's going down."

Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and later said it was due to being creatively stifled and asked to work hurt all of the time, including after he sustained a concussion at the Royal Rumble, the final night of his WWE tenure.

Punk, whose wife AJ Lee retired from active competition in the WWE recently, joined UFC last December and his first fight is tentatively scheduled for later this year with his opponent and the location yet to be determined.

The Best in the World has said he will "never" return to wrestling, so the music video may be the closest WWE fans ever get to seeing him inside the ring again.
