The belief in Tiger Woods has subsided.

The former world No. 1 has nothing to show for in 2015. Outside of a modest tied-for-17th performance at the 2015 Masters, Woods missed the cut at the Phoenix Open and Farmers Insurance Open, finished tied for 69th at the Players Championship and worse of all, carded the worst round of his pro career with an 85 at the Memorial Tournament.

He finished the event dead last.

That, however, isn't enough to deter Jason Day. The 27-year-old had a personal look at Woods in Monday's U.S. Open practice round at Chambers Bay and has full confidence in his abilities.

"If he could get on the fairway, he'd probably be back to where he was [when he was dominating],'' Day said (via the NY Post). "His iron play is just ridiculous how good it is right now. It's really special. The driver and the 3-wood. The 3-wood is OK, the driver is a little...gets a little wide sometimes. But I think that's the biggest thing for him right now is to really kind of get on the fairway. His short game looks pretty good."

Golf coach David Leadbetter had advice of his own for Woods (via CNN): figure it out yourself.

"To Tiger, go and figure it out yourself," Leadbetter said in a live webchat at The Clubhouse. "You have more than enough knowledge 'to dig it out of the dirt yourself,' as Ben Hogan used to say."

"Forget cameras, launch-monitors, biomechanics. Get back to your creative self and trust your innate ability."

Woods will have his first opportunity to do so at 4.28 p.m. ET on Thursday.
