Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET UFC 188's main card, featuring a heavyweight title clash between Cain Velasquez and No. 1-ranked contender and interim champion Fabricio Werdum, will get underway. There will also be a preliminary card on FX at 8:00 p.m. ET that can be live streamed here, and early prelims fans may watch online free here at 7:00 p.m. E.T.

Velasquez is one of the most feared fighters in the UFC, but he hasn't been inside the octagon since 2013 thanks to myriad injuries. In that time Werdum has become the interim champion, and getting past ranked heavyweights Travis Browne and Mark Hunt.

He should expect to have his hands full with Velasquez though despite the layoff, because of comments he made about Velasquez pretending to be Mexican. Werdum said the champion is an "American that thinks he's Mexican," and word got back to Velasquez, who refused to shake Werdum's hand or say hello during a breakfast.

"Fabricio insulted his pride," Daniel Cormier, UFC light heavyweight champion and cornerman for Velasquez said. "And I bet it was tongue in cheek by Werdum, I bet it wasn't meant that way, but you don't say it to that guy.

"The last guy who said things about Cain was Junior [dos Santos], he said he hits soft. And he got beat up twice. So I think Fabricio would have been better off keeping quiet."

Bizarrely, Werdum is the only fighter not named Antonio Silva or Junior dos Santos that Velasquez will have fought since he knocked out Brock Lesnar in October 2010.

Prediction: Velasquez def. Werdum by TKO (Round 2)
