Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET on Spike TV Erislandy Lara will defend his WBA junior middleweight title against Delvin Rodriguez on the Premier Boxing Champions banner in a battle that can be live streamed free by clicking this link.

Lara (20-2-2, 12 KO) is fighting for the first time since December 2014, when he blew out Ishe Smith for his belt. Lara is still rebuilding from a controversial loss to Canelo Alvarez in 2013, in which he claims to have given the popular Mexican a "boxing lesson" straight from the "Cuban school."

Lara has long been an avoided fighter because few boxers are as slick and defensively skilled as Lara. He has a tendency to make opponents look bad, and put on dull fights as a result. This time, Lara is promising excitement.

"I'm going to be electrifying on fight night, and the fans are going to see a spectacular performance from me," Lara said.

Rodriguez is receiving likely his last chance to be any kind of factor in terms of big fights. He's best known for being obliterated in 2013 by Miguel Cotto in Cotto's first fight with Freddie Roach in his corner, launching the Puerto Rican's resurgence to A-side status.

"I'm taking this fight as if it's my last opportunity. That's how I'm going to fight this fight," Rodriguez, 35, said. "That's how I've programmed my mind for this fight, as if my back is against the wall. This is my last chance at a world title."

Prediction: Erislandy Lara def. Delvin Rodriguez by TKO (Round 6)
