Adrien "The Problem" Broner is stepping up his competition from the last three fights he's had at junior welterweight on June 20. In Broner's second Premier Boxing Champions appearance he will fight former welterweight champion Shawn Porter at a 144-pound catch weight.

Porter is a quality opponent, but to hear Broner tell it he was interested in fighters with a little more name value.

"I wanted Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, [Marcos] Maidana again, Lucas Matthysse. I want to fight them all," Broner said. Broner's only loss of his career came in 2013 vs. Maidana, who knocked him down twice and parlayed the victory into two fights vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2014. He has not fought since losing the second time.

"I don't know if you heard Maidana or not but he don't ant to fight me again," Broner said. "I'm not really worried about him even if I fight him again or not. I don't need Maidana for my career. After that fight my name got bigger, my name is still growing."

A fight vs. Broner figures to be a large payday for Maidana, but weight might be an issue that gives Maidana pause. Maidana's trainer Robert Garcia has talked about Maidana ballooning in weight since his two Mayweather fights, and said he may not be able to lose it in time for a 2015 bout.

If he were to fight Broner, Maidana would likely be subject to the same weight restrictions as Porter. Beyond the 144-pound catch weight, three pounds below the welterweight limit, Broner has imposed a re-hydration clause. Neither fighter may weigh more than 155 pounds on fight night. That might be a reason that the big names Broner wants to fight him have been hesitant to sign on the dotted line.
