The members of the WWE Universe that are still holding out hope for a "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 32 are in for a rude awakening -- at least according to Paul Heyman.

Heyman appeared on Austin's WWE Podcast on the WWE Network on June 1 and toward the end of the interview he asked the Texas Rattlesnake about a possible bout with The Beast at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in his home state of Texas on April 3, 2016.
Austin seemed caught off guard by the question, but began hyping a clash with Lesnar and later said he was getting riled up about it just looking at Heyman.

The Hall of Famer went into a promo which seemed to lead to the belief that a return to the ring for Austin for the first time in over a decade could be possible.
Austin dispelled the rumors on his own podcast while Heyman appeared on Chael Sonnen's podcast and admitted that he legitimately took Austin by surprise by bringing up an Austin-Lesnar match at WrestleMania 32 during the WWE Network interview.
Heyman also added that he couldn't sit through an hour-long podcast with Austin without bringing up the question of a possible fantasy match between the two huge wrestling names.
The original founder of ECW went on to say that there is "zero chance" that Austin will return to face Lesnar at the biggest show of 2015 and added that there are myriad reasons as to why the six-time WWE Champion won't return to the ring.
Austin has been hot and cold at times when it comes to an in-ring return, but he's mostly said that he wouldn't want to put in all the effort and all the training it would take just for a one-off moment.
Austin has hinted in the past that a return at the biggest spectacle in the industry in his home state would be a perfect place to make a comeback, but he's never fully committed to a return to the ring.
The Texas Rattlesnake hasn't had a match in the WWE since WrestleMania XIX (2003) when he lost to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at Safeco Field in Seattle in what proved to be his farewell from the WWE as an active performer.
He's made sporadic appearances here and there and served as the general manager and sheriff of RAW, but he hasn't had a match.
As for Lesnar, he took an eight-year hiatus from the WWE before returning in 2012 and he is now a part-time Superstar.
In the past 15 months, he's ended The Streak of The Undertaker, decimated John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, held the gold for 224 days and then headlined WrestleMania 31 and lost the belt without being pinned.
Lesnar is set to return to the WWE with Heyman by his side very soon to begin his summer-long arc and he is sure to be a huge part of WrestleMania 32 when it rolls around in April.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion, however, likely won't be staring across the ring from Austin come April 3, 2016.
