Rob Gronkowski got pulled into the Deflategate debate on a game show. Just as quickly, he pulled himself out of it.

NESN.com reported that the New England Patriots' All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski and his family recently participated in a celebrity family edition of "Family Feud," the airing of which will take place June 21.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft hopeful Tom Brady will start 2015 season opener

The report included video of Gronkowski at the podium for the head-to-head matchup as host Steve Harvey posed the topic of the survey:

"Name something that can be inflated or deflated."

Joe Montana tells Tom Brady to confess but admits he'd consider deflating balls if he thought it would help him

Gronkowski apparently hit his buzzer first, but then answered, "I don't even want this one," and quickly was buzzed with an X mark.

NESN.com suggests that the moment was scripted, which may explain why Gronkowski came off a lot better than he did during separate interviews on ESPN when all he could say was "It is what it is" (twice), quarterback Tom Brady has his support and the only thing he can do is work to make himself a better football player.

The Patriots, at least, will be more than satisfied if Gronkowski can do the latter. He was the 2014 NFL Comeback Player of the Year who finished the season with 82 receptions for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns after missing a large portion of 2013 with injury.

Gronkowski's "Family Feud" segment airs two days before Brady goes before NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to appeal his four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate, which was exposed in the first half of the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he was hopeful that Brady would start the 2015 and former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe called the investigation against Brady a "witch hunt."
