Not even an injury could derail the WWE's plans to continue the storyline split between WWE Superstar Rusev and his former valet Lana.

Rusev has taken to social media over the last few days to taunt Lana as a way to continue the rift between the two.
The Bulgarian Brute wrote to Lana on his Twitter account Tuesday telling her to "watch her step" after she fell during Monday Night RAW this week and the WWE played up an injury angle.
Watch your step @LanaWWE !!!! Hahahahahahahahaa

Lana also took to her Twitter account to compare Dolph Ziggler's kindness to Rusev's bullying tactics to further the storyline of The Showoff and The Ravishing Russian being a couple.

The WWE pulled the trigger on the breakup between the two characters last month and it was slated to lead toward a feud between Ziggler and Rusev that would culminate in the squared circle.
Rusev was then hurt during a match on SmackDown last month when he injured his foot on a spot that saw him fall out of the ring, which changed the course of the storyline.
Rusev's injury will likely lead to him wearing wrestling boots when he returns and it also derailed the plans for him to have an in-ring feud with Ziggler.
The WWE has still used the Bulgarian Brute on the microphone as a way to taunt Lana and further his rivalry with Ziggler for when he's ready to return to action.
The Super Athlete was pulled from the Elimination Chamber Match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship last month, which was won by Ryback, and replaced by Mark Henry due to the legitimate injury.
The latest development in the angle saw Lana fall of the stage on RAW after standing next to Rusev, and injuring her foot in kayfabe while Ziggler helped her to the back.
This should all lead to a match between Ziggler and Rusev when the mighty Russian is ready to return to the ring.
As for Ziggler, he's plenty busy as the WWE gave him a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match along with Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Neville, Kofi Kingston and Kane with the winner being guaranteed a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot for anytime within the next year.
Money in the Bank takes place live this Sunday from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
The Show Off won the briefcase in 2012 and cashed in successfully, but has mostly been used as a midcarder in recent years.
Despite Rusev's injury shattering the WWE's plans for a set of matches with Ziggler, the storyline has been kept alive via promos and social media.
