It is doubtful that Bill Goldberg will ever return to a WWE ring despite several close calls in the past, but it's always fun to speculate on what would happen if the former WCW and WWE icon were to return to Vince McMahon's company.

WWE Monday Night RAW Rumors and Preview

Goldberg had a meteoric rise after joining WCW in 1997 and going on a 173-0 streak through the company that ended at the hands of Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998.

Goldberg then joined the WWE in 2003 following WCW going under in 2001 and he was a one-time World Heavyweight Champion in both companies.

Goldberg has said in the past that he wants to return to the ring, but on his terms only. His talks with Triple H stalled out prior to WrestleMania XXX last year and he has said in recent interviews that something is in the works for a return to the ring, but not with the WWE.

While it's doubtful he'll change his mind, here are three potential feuds for Goldberg should he return to the No. 1 wrestling promotion in the world.

3) Rusev: The Bulgarian Brute is injured right now, but since Goldberg likely isn't joining the fray anytime soon, it's still fun to think about a fantasy feud between Goldberg and The Super Athlete. This would be a clash of two huge titans in the middle of the ring and a patriotic Goldberg would come after the Russian loyalist Rusev.

2) Roman Reigns: The WWE balked on the full push of Reigns to the top of the company, but he already showed that he can wrestle on a big stage when he put on a solid main event with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. The WWE was pushing Reigns as hard as WCW pushed Goldberg earlier this year and it would be interesting to see these two big men go head-to-head in the squared circle after each of them went on their own tear through their respective rosters in the past.

1) Brock Lesnar: Yes, this feud already happened in the past, but their match at WrestleMania XX didn't live up to the billing and they deserve a second chance to go nose-to-nose on a grand stage. In 2004, the fans at Madison Square Garden were wise to the impending departures of both men and turned on the match quickly, serenading the pair of them with boos and only cheering "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who was serving as the guest referee. Both men later admitted that neither one of them wanted to be there and the effort reflected that notion at WrestleMania XX. Goldberg said in a recent interview that he'd love a second chance to wrestle Lesnar, and with The Beast recently extending his contract with McMahon, the only way that would happen would be in a WWE ring.

A Goldberg return to the WWE remains a fantasy for some members of the WWE Universe, but if he were to return to action these three feuds would be fun to watch.
