Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant is considering suing a woman who describes herself as an “NBA/NFL groupie” over a series of sexually charged tweets she posted about him online.
In a string of screen caps she attributed to a bevy of athletes and other celebrities she has allegedly been sexually involved with, the woman claims Bryant is into such sexual practices as urination and using strap-ons.
Bryant immediately claimed the texts attributed to him were frauds and is now threatening to sue the unidentified woman. At one point on a Twitter page attributed to him someone posted the message “Whoever (sic) behind this account be prepared to be sued. I already got the NFLPA on it.”
Among the other pro athletes mentioned on her hit list were Kyrie Irving, Paul Pierce, Richard Sherman, Eddie Lacy and Devin Thomas. Amid Bryant’s threat of legal action, the woman has since deleted her profile.
After a bumpy off-field NFL beginning, Bryant has toiled particularly hard in recent months to rebrand his image. He recently signed a three-year contract to join the Jordan Brand, and during the negotiations NBA legend Michael Jordan admonished him to “behave” and “stay out of trouble.”
According to reports, Bryant’s respect of Jordan runs so deep he agreed not to receive payment from the brand for the first year of the deal, instead wanting to prove to his new boss first that he is indeed worthy. Actual payments are set to kick in during the second year.
"It just adds fuel to trying to do things great at all times," said Bryant. "That's something you don't want to mess up. Now, I do pay attention to that, just because of the fact of who he is and what he is about. Everybody knows Michael Jordan is about his business, so that makes you want to be about yours."
