Today at 1:08 p.m. ET, the Oakland Athletics (22-33) and Detroit Tigers (28-26) take the field at Comerica Park for the final contest in a three-game series live from Detroit.

Oakland enters play looking for the sweep and for its fourth straight victory as it continues a six-game road trip while Detroit hopes to salvage the final contest of this set and avoid a seven-match losing streak on this brief three-game road trip.

The Athletics topped the Tigers 5-3 on Tuesday and followed it up with a 6-1 triumph on Wednesday.

Jesse Hahn (2-5. 3.77 ERA) takes the ball for Oakland while Detroit counters with Shane Greene and he is 4-4 with a 5.19 ERA thus far this season.

Hahn has gone at least five innings in every start this season and is coming in off of an outing where he gave up three runs to the New York Yankees. He shut Detroit out on May 25.

Greene, who already lost to the A's last weekend, gave up five homers on Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels before the end of the second inning.

The A's defense, which has 54 errors this season, hasn't been solid behind Hahn as he has eight unearned runs in his starts this campaign.

Hahn will contend with a Tigers lineup that has been paced by first baseman Miguel Cabrera, who is fourth in the MLB with a .439 on-base percentage and fifth with a .335 batting average and a 1.015 OPS.

Detroit outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is tied for second in the majors with 17 doubles on the campaign.

The Athletics counter with a lineup that is led by catcher Stephen Vogt, who ranks second in the American League (39, tied), third in slugging percentage (.583) and OPS (.983) and fifth in on-base percentage (.400).

Oakland enters play in last place in the AL West with the worst record in baseball and it sits 12.5 games behind the first-place Houston Astros while Detroit is third in the AL Central and trails the division-leading Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins by four games.

The Athletics and Tigers play for the final time this season in matinee action live from Comerica Park in Detroit.
