Roy Jones Jr. -- the champion boxer, long past his prime, will come face-to-face with Kimbo Slice in an exhibition boxing match in Montego Bay, Jamaica this December.

The event comes in the wake of Jamaica's 50 year anniversary celebration. It's being organized jointly by the Jamaican company Giomax Entertainment and Stewart's Auto Sales. Jones is from Pensacola, Florida while Slice was born in the Bahamas.

Kimbo said about Slice: "He's a big street-fighter with a lot of power, so early in the fight he can be very dangerous but as the fight goes on, my mental experience should take over, but for the first five rounds he will be very deadly."

Jones is 43 years old and a former three division champion. His last major victory was against Jeff Lacy in 2009. Slice switched to boxing last year after a brief and disappointing stint in MMA. He's 5-0 as a boxer with as many as four knockouts all against low-level competition.

Slice gained popularity through various videos on You Tube showcasing his street fights. He was the feature fighter for MMA promotion Elite XC despite very little experience and training. He won two easy bouts until he faced Seth Petruzelli who fights at lightweight while Slice is a heavyweight. Slice was knocked out by Petruzelli in that bout.

Elite XC folded soon after their moneymaker's terrible loss. Due to his unique drawing power, Slice got a chance to participate in the UFC as part of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show. He lost to Roy Nelson in his very first fight but was still given a UFC contract.

Slice's MMA career ended abruptly when he was defeated by Matt Mitrione in May 2010. He had however, beaten Houston Alexander in his first official UFC fight.

The fight between Roy Jones Jr. and Kimbo Slice would take place at the Montego Bay in Jamaica and the event will also be available to viewers in the U.S. via Pay Per View.
