Finally, The Rock is coming back to WrestleMania?

There have been rumors for months that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would meet Triple H in the middle of the ring in a high-profile match at WrestleMania 32 next year at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

The Rock recently spoke with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard Blog and said that he would be open to a match with "The Game" and that he, Triple H and Vince McMahon have discussed it in the past.

"Myself, Vince, Triple H have talked about creating something that is amazing," The Rock said. "Any time for me, going back into the WWE, especially if it's a match - and these guys know this because of the open dialogue between me and Triple H - the question is, can we create, in terms of a promotional scale for the fans, something better than what we did in Miami and back-to-back in New York with John Cena? Can we put together something that's different but equally, if not more, exciting? So there's a lot of elements involved that we continue to talk about and chop up. That's the coolest part about the relationship I have with the McMahons, including Triple H."

Though they had a huge rivalry, The Rock and Triple H never clashed one-on-one at WrestleMania before and the closest they came was at WrestleMania 2000 when they were in a Fatal 4 Way elimination match that also involved The Big Show and Mick Foley.

The bout boiled down to The Rock and Triple H, with Vince McMahon turning on The People's Champion and helping The Game to victory.

The Rock took a seven-year hiatus from wrestling after WrestleMania XX, but he returned as the guest host at WrestleMania XXVII and then fought Cena at WrestleManias XXVIII and XXIX.

The Great One then had a memorable opening segment with fellow legends "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania XXX and followed it up this year with a tremendous in-ring promo with UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

While he's open to a bout with Triple H, The Rock wouldn't commit to it happening.

"Look, the platform is there," he said. "You have Dallas and could set an attendance record, so that's the first goal. And then what is the match that allows us to do that? I've had incredible matches with Triple H, so I'm not ruling it out, but I'm not saying it is going to happen. We continue to talk about it, and we're still shooting each other text messages. He sent me a message from Dallas that said, 'This could be us. The record is ours.' So we'll see."

The WWE planted the seeds between the two in a backstage segment on SmackDown in the fall where they talked about their legendary rivalry and hinted at a possible clash.

The feud escalated during the Rousey segment at WrestleMania 31 and it could lead to a potential one-on-one clash.

It's possible that AT&T Stadium in Texas will smell what The Rock is cooking.
