Much has been made about the running back situation in Dallas, and the available options do not exactly get the fans excited about having a dominant running game. But the Cowboys are banking on the fact that their strong offensive line is going to be able to open holes for anyone, just like last year.

Still, it helps to have a talented back, no matter how good the offensive line is, and Dallas may be taking a chance on a runner with plenty of ability but a spot track record, Ben Tate.

Tate has previously played for the Texans, Browns, and Vikings, and he has shown flashes of promise at all three stops. His most notable time came as a fill-in for Arian Foster in Houston, when it looked like Tate had the makings of a future star.

Since then, injuries and lack of opportunity have combined to prevent Tate from becoming a household name, but there are plenty of people around the league that think he still has the talent to be an above average runner.

If signed, Tate would join Darren McFadden in Dallas to form arguably the most talented pair of underachievers at any position in the league. But if they are able to find some consistency and stay healthy, then the all-universe offensive line that the Cowboys have assembled should be able to pave the way for the running game to dominate again in 2015.
