Hollywood and sports intersect on a pretty regular basis, as any fan of Entourage will probably never let you forget (especially after the New England Patriots make an appearance in the trailer). But occasionally, an athlete leaves the sporting arena and makes a full-fledged career out of appearing onscreen.

With all due respect to Cheeseburger Eddie (Terry Crews), no former athlete embodies this career change better than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The former college football star became a pro wrestling sensation after an injury kept him out of the NFL. And after tearing up the WWE (then the WWF), he hit it big in the movies.

Now, according to E! Online, Johnson is being immortalized as a Hollywood legend that is on par with so many of the action heroes that he has portrayed. The Rock put his hands and feet in the cement outside the famous TCL Chinese Theatre earlier this week, forever making his mark as a movie star.

Johnson took the time to give a shout out to director Steven Spielberg for attending and thanked him for a letter of encouragement that meant a lot to the megastar.

"This man who has inspired me over the years, inspired movie-making and created characters that I loved...this man told me: 'You're going for it, and just keep going for it,'" Johnson said.

Johnson also called the ceremony an "honor" and said he could not believe the other famous faces that attended his coronation.

"I took moment to be grateful before the ceremony," he said. "I'm lucky there's Spielberg, Clint Eastwood right there, my mentors right there. It's awesome!"
