Rory McIlroy will look to continue his dominance of the PGA Tour on Thursday. The current world No. 1 moves to Fort Worth, Texas for the Crowne Plaza Invitational at the Colonial Country Club. Held from May 21-24, the event holds a $6.5 million purse, with the winner receiving a $1.17 million share.
What They're Saying
Rory McIlroy (via BBC): "I think I'm pretty close to playing my best golf. I'm definitely able to feel more equipped to win now. If you're happy off the golf course, you're going to play better on it. I'm playing well on it, so it must mean that everything is going well off it."
Jordan Spieth (via the Dallas Morning News): "We have goals as a team that we set. We set lofty ones and try to accomplish them, try not to compare to anybody else. There's a lot of short-term and a lot of long-term goals that I have yet to [accomplish] and that's all that I really focus on."
Prediction
Lost in McIlroy and Spieth's success is the fact that Jimmy Walker is the one currently second in the FedExCup standings. Finishing tied for 10th last year, Walker will look to continue his run of top-10 finishes this season in Fort Worth.
