Dallas once again expects to contend for the NFC East crown, and there has been a lot of talk about once again relying on the running game to power the offense. Some analysts are skeptical because Dallas lost star running back DeMarco Murray to the rival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

While things could still change, it appears that Dallas will head into 2015 counting on a combination of Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle, and Ryan Williams to carry the load, although it sounds more and more like Randle could be the lead back.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Cowboys players think that Randle is more than capable of replacing Murray's production. "Every year, you know there are going to be changes," said star tight end Jason Witten. "We had success and DeMarco hit free agency and you hate to see a guy like that go just because he did everything the right way. He worked the right way, he came up in the system and obviously had a phenomenal season last year."

"But I think every year there's challenges. This year it's no different with contract issues or signing free agents and all that goes into it. I think Coach Garrett has done a good job and our job is to say, 'Hey, last year is over with. We've got to go prove it again.' And I think that's what we're focused on doing right now. It our job, it's my job and Tony's and some of the other leaders is to create a way that that's how we go to work. Last year was good, but we're trying to be better than that."

"He's had good workouts," Witten said of Randle. "I could tell he's focused, he's locked in. I think he sees the opportunity he has in front of him. I think he wants everybody to have that trust in him that he can be the guy."
