NXT Champion Kevin Owens is set to debut against John Cena at Elimination Chamber and he has no shortage of confidence heading into the bout.

Paige vs. Nikki Bella Rumored For Elimination Chamber

The WWE announced that Owens will face Cena for the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber on May 31 in Corpus Christi, TX after the two exchanged a heated promo on Monday Night RAW this week.

Cena once again was out to conduct his open challenge for the title and Owens answered the call, but didn't want to have a match. Cena went to offer Owens advice, but he didn't want to hear it and he trashed Cena. Owens then attacked the Cenation leader.

It was then revealed that the match will happen, but not until Elimination Chamber in less than two weeks.

Owens took to Twitter and guaranteed he'd defeat Cena at the big event:

Cena has had a memorable run of open challenges lately, most notably taking on Sami Zayn in his main roster debut a few weeks ago on RAW in a match that saw both men put on a great show despite Zayn dealing with a legitimate shoulder injury. Cena also battled Neville in a great contest as well recently.

Owens is slated to face Zayn at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable this Wednesday on the WWE Network live from Full Sail University. Owens is looking to retain the gold and then go after Cena's title in an attempt to become a double champion at Elimination Chamber.

The match will mark the first time since the Royal Rumble that Cena takes on someone other than Rusev on a WWE Network special.

Cena fought in a Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble before engaging in a program with Rusev that began at Fastlane in February and spanned through March's WrestleMania 31 and April's Extreme Rules before culminating in an I Quit Match at last Sunday's Payback.

Rusev and Lana have split up following Payback and the Super Athlete appears primed for a feud with Dolph Ziggler while Cena will set his sights on Owens.

Owens will be a very busy man this week, but it's possible he ends it by holding two title belts.
