The luck of the Irish could be shining on Sheamus later this month at Elimination Chamber.

CM Punk Gets Advice From Batista, Talks UFC Training

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there is a strong possibility that the "Celtic Warrior" escapes the Elimination Chamber event on May 31 in Texas as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Per the report, Sheamus is advertised as the Intercontinental Champion on upcoming event teasers, which is a big indication that he may escape the demonic structure with the gold.

WWE Monday Night RAW Rumors, Preview and Possible Spoilers

The title was vacated by Daniel Bryan after he announced on Monday Night RAW last week that an MRI on his shoulder revealed that it's uncertain when he'll be back in a WWE ring, if at all.

The WWE hasn't announced the field for the Elimination Chamber Match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship just yet, but four likely participants include Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Neville and King Barrett while two others will also be involved.

It's likely the WWE reveals some or all of the names this week on Monday Night RAW.

The WWE has had big plans for Sheamus since he returned to television recently with a new look and a heel bully persona.

Sheamus defeated Ziggler at Payback Sunday night live from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore to build momentum and talked to Todd Philips afterward on Fallout.

"How good does it feel when you go out and set a goal for yourself?" Sheamus said. "How good does it feel to achieve that goal? Two months ago I came back with a goal to put Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler and all of these other so-called underdogs in their place. And tonight, almost one week since Daniel Bryan relinquished the IC Title and walked away into the sunset, I put Dolph Ziggler on a table, battered, bloody and bruised. I couldn't be happier Tom, in fact, just like the old days I think I'll go and I'll celebrate with a couple of pints. Really take this in, because I have achieved so much. And now that those two little hobbits are out of the way, who knows what's next for the Celtic Warrior. Cheer up, we won. The entire WWE Universe won. You should be celebrating just like me."

Regarding Sheamus, he also spoke with Delaware Online and discussed wanting to face Brock Lesnar.

"Right now, it's Brock Lesnar," Sheamus said. "I want Brock Lesnar. Simple as that. Brock Lesnar to me is a man who shows up now and again, and obviously considers himself the toughest man in WWE. And I consider myself THE toughest guy in WWE. I've been saying for a long time that I want a crack at Brock Lesnar. I wanted a crack at Undertaker before, but that streak is gone now and the opportunity is gone. I'm looking at today's toughest streak. I want Brock Lesnar. And I want him at WrestleMania."
