The third day of the Wells Fargo Championship came to a close on Saturday, with Rory McIlroy surging to the top of the leaderboard.
Webb Simpson is four strokes back at 14-under par, while Robert Streb, Brendan Steele and Patrick Rodgers round out the top five. Below is a recap of the second day's events (via PGA Tour).
What They're Saying
Rory McIlroy: "It's a mental thing. You're picturing good shots, you're visualizing the lines on putts and you're not getting in your own way. You're just letting it happen. I just aimed at the flags today. It's as simple as that. I was sort of aiming at a lot of middles of greens and trying to work the ball into the hole. I was taking dead aim a little bit more today."
Will MacKenzie: "He kind of has that deal when Tiger [Woods] was at his top. When he's on, he's awesome."
Justin Thomas: "I was trying to take advantage of my length. This course doesn't yield a lot of birdies, so I really take advantage of the holes I can."
