The Chicago Bulls were on the verge of taking command of their playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers a couple of times so far, but they were unable to do so. Now, they find themselves facing a 3-2 deficit as they prepare for game 6 at home.

Kevin Love To Stay In Cleveland Following Injury?

The Cavs stole one game with a last-second miracle shot from LeBron, and then the King went all Incredible Hulk in game 5, which Chicago still had a chance to win despite the best player in the world bringing his A game. All of that speaks volumes to how talented Chicago is, but it also speaks to the coaching job done by Tom Thibodeau. According to Basketball Insiders, it still may not be enough to keep him around.

Thibodeau and the Bulls' front office have had some very public clashes over the years, and many have speculated that this could be his final season coaching the team unless they win a title. Now, it looks like it may be his last year regardless.

Coach Spo On The Hot Seat?

Thibs still has two years on his contract, but the team is willing to entertain trade offers, and the Orlando Magic have popped up as a very interested suitor.

According to Steve Kyler:

"Sources close to the situation say not only would the Magic give the Bulls compensation (likely a second-round pick or two) for the chance to get at Thibodeau, sources also said the Magic would meet the expected $7-8 million per year coaching salary Thibodeau likely commands in his next deal."

Trading a head coach is not unprecedented in the NBA. The Celtics traded Doc Rivers to the Clippers, and the Nets traded Jason Kidd to the Bucks. If Chicago really wants Thibodeau gone, it seems like they have their chance staring them in the face, provided that they like Orlando's offer.
