It's a new era for the PGA Tour. Names like Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ernie Els are being replaced by the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler.

Wells Fargo Championship Preview, Favorites and Predictions

According to Patrick Reed, who sees himself in the same ilk as the aforementioned stars, the new era of golf is more than just hungry. It's cutthroat.

"We're all cutthroat," Reed said after his practice round at the Wells Fargo Championship (via Sporting News). "We all want to beat the field and if we are beating the field, we want to go even lower."

"A lot of the younger guys don't have any fear," he added. "We've been pummeling each other since we were little. I've been beating on Jordan. Jordan's been beating on me. I've been beating on Rickie, he's done the same to me."

Fowler won The Players Championship, but critics still pointed to his inability to show a killer instinct in the final round, something Reed refused to acknowledge.

"He doesn't show it," Reed said "Some guys out there are going to show it. You have the Tiger Woods fist pump, the Phil Mickelson hat tip and wave, but at the end of the day, they're both wanting to drum each other."

"Rickie is the same way. He's a great guy, but we're out there trying to win an event."

The 2015 Wells Fargo Championship will be held at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte from May 14-17. Reed, like McIlroy, Spieth and Fowler, will look to duplicate J.B. Holmes' success from last year.
