Andrew Bynum is now two teams removed from the Los Angeles Lakers but he still harbors lasting thoughts when it comes to their fan base.
Though he has yet to so much as play one game for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bynum recently told media members he feels the Cavs have shown themselves to be much better fans than anything he ever experienced while in L.A.
"I just know that they're really, really passionate,"said Bynum, "and I haven't had the opportunity to play for a city that is really just gonna stand up and really support the team. I'm super excited and I can't wait to see what it's like."
Bynum spent his first seven years in L.A., before being dealt to Philadelphia where he sat out the entire 2012-13 season with lingering knee issues. Over that time, he averaged 12 points and eight rebounds, including a career best season of 19 points and 12 rebounds in 2011-12.
And yet, Bynum never quite endeared himself to L.A. fans, who hang their hats on the franchise being the one-time home of such dominant big men as Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Shaquille O’Neal.
Bynum was selected by the Lakers with the 10th overall pick of the 2005 draft and starred on the team’s back to back 2009 and 2010 title-winning teams. The now 25-year-old veteran, eight year veteran is also the youngest player to ever play in a NBA game.
