For Michelle Wie, who has been subject to media scrutiny since she was 14 years old, the admission was immense.

Golf Magazine conducted an interview with the 25-year-old Wie and touched on a variety of subjects, including her breakthrough major win at the 2014 U.S. Women's Open, her fame - and infamy in playing in men's tournaments as a teenager and her sense of fashion, on an off the golf course.

Michelle Wie's breakthrough win at the U.S. Women's Open the start of a vintage Tiger Woods-like run?

After being asked whether she would agree to appear on the cover of a swimsuit magazine or a magazine celebrating athletes' bodies, she was asked about whom she thought was the best-looking male golfer on the tour.

The media-savvy Wie initially sidestepped the question, saying she didn't watch enough men's golf to have an opinion. But when pressed, she did make a revealing statement about the current No. 1 men's golfer in the game, Rory McIlroy.

"Well, I think Rory looks great. I love all the bright colors I've seen him in. And he works out a ton and fills out his clothes better."

The relationship rumors have not yet flown over her statement, but it does show a bit more of a comfort zone for her with the media.

Wie, who was ranked one of the most beautiful women in her sport by Golf Magazine, was asked whether it bothered her that her appearance can get as much attention as her game.

"We strike a good balance on the LPGA Tour. We like to show off our style, and to dress up on the red carpets. You've got to show it off somewhere, you know?"

As to the question whether she would agree to appear on the cover of a swimsuit issue or body-celebration issue, she showed that the trust factor with the media may not be there completely.

"I've been asked. The answer is no," she said, without elaborating as to why.
