Former WWE Diva Kaitlyn recently sang AJ Lee's praises for retiring and she also called her an inspiration.

After Lee announced last month that she was leaving the WWE, Kaitlyn, who also left the squared circle when she felt the time was right, publicly supported the three-time Divas Champion for her decision.

During a Q&A session with fans on Twitter earlier this month, Kaitlyn was asked by one fan which Divas had inspired her through the years, and she mentioned Lee in her response:

These kind words come on the heels of Kaitlyn, who had a lengthy program with Lee during her stint with the company, sharing her support for Lee in an interview with WWE .com last month.

"AJ has this weird ability to accomplish anything that she visualizes. So when she worked her way up to the top, she stayed up there," Kaitlyn told WWE.com. "No one has been like her, and no one will ever be like her. She really just felt like she had given everything that she needed to give to this sport in general, and taught people - especially the Divas - as much as she could. She had four amazing WrestleManias, and she made such an impact that she felt like she could walk away and be content with that. I 100 percent support that. She knew the time was right, and knew that she could walk away. She left big shoes to fill, but she helped everyone around her get better. I'm proud of everything that she did."

Lee teamed up with Paige in her last high-profile bout against the Bella twins at WrestleMania 31 and got the win for her team after making Nikki Bella tap out to the Black Widow. She announced her retirement just days later.

Lee's decision to leave the WWE is likely sparked from the turmoil her husband CM Punk has with the company. Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and Lee stayed with the organization despite her husband being at odds with it.

Punk then blasted the WWE and its doctor Chris Amann on Colt Cabana's podcast last November, adding more distance between himself and the WWE while adding that he received his termination papers from the company on the day he married Lee.

Lee took a few different hiatuses with the company, but mostly stayed on board with it despite her husband's disdain for it.

After Dr. Amann sued Punk for defamation, it was said to be the incident that drove Lee out of the company, though it hasn't been confirmed.

Lee is a three-time Divas Champion and two-time Diva of the Year.
