According to Yahoo Sports, Lucas Cassidy of St. Petersburg was arrested Wednesday night for bringing a firearm into the Lightning's Game 3 matchup against the Montreal Canadiens at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay.

Cassidy was arrested on a second-degree misdemeanor charge for carrying a weapon into a facility where they are prohibited.

3 Takeaways From Sunday's NHL Playoff Action

According to WTSP, Cassidy would have faced a felony charge if he didn't have a concealed weapons permit for his gun.

The police were called to the arena and carried Cassidy from his seat out of the arena to put an end to what was deemed as a serious matter.

Per the report, the Lightning is conducting an investigation into the incident, especially since the Amalie Arena has medal detectors and security didn't pick up on the fact that the fan was packing heat.

This marked the second strange incident to occur in Tampa Bay this postseason as a Detroit Red Wings fan attempted to light a Lightning flag on fire when it was being passed through the crowd in Round 1. The fan was ultimately booked on an arson charge.

The game was just as thrilling as the action in the stands as the Lightning's Tyler Johnson notched his NHL playoffs-leading eighth goal with two seconds left to propel Tampa Bay to a 2-1 lead over Montreal with Game 3 seemingly headed for overtime.

The Lightning went on to defeat the Canadiens 2-1 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Game 4 takes place back at the Amalie Arena Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

Hopefully the only fire power brought to the game will be on the ice.
