That would probably be Aaron Rodgers’ Twitter nemesis Todd Sutton now blowing up his phone. And, no doubt, he’s hoping to collect.

Early last year, when news of Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Ryan Braun’s alleged involvement with steroids first leaked, Rodgers was so sure his fellow Wisconsin star bud was clean and drug-free, he boasted to Sutton “ya, I’d put my salary next year on it.”

According to news reports, that would $8.5 million. Sutton is now probably hoping that Rodgers was serious about his boast as he was in his defense of the Brewers star.

As part of an ongoing steroid scandal involving the Florida-based Biogenesis Clinic, Major League Baseball officials announced this week that Braun has been suspended without pay for the final 65 games of the 2013 season. Former owner Anthony Bosch is said to be cooperating with investigators and long ago tabbed both Braun and Yankees star Alex Rodriguez among those he has allegedly sold steroids.

In a statement, Braun admitted: "I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it ... has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization.”

The suspension will cost Braun around $3.25in salary, but even that pales to what news reports now says Rodgers may well now be on the hook for.
