In Lolo Jones' mind, posing for a photo with Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes perfect sense.

Christianpost.com reported that Jones, a devoted Christian and one of only 10 Americans to have competed in both the Summer and Winter Olympics, received backlash after posting a photo of herself with Floyd Mayweather Jr., taken last summer, on her Instagram account before his championship fight against Manny Pacquiao.

The caption on the original photo reads, "I may quit Track to be his housekeeper just so I can make more money. @FloydMayweather."

Jones was taken to task for her photo with an athlete who has a history of domestic violence incidents.

"Hey Lolo I love u but r u and other celebs aware that Floyd is a serial convicted woman beater," one person questioned her on Instagram, christianpost.com reported. "Would u take a picture with Ray Rice?"

Another woman said the photo betrayed her status as a role model for young women.

"Sorry to be snippy, but just so disappointed in you, Lolo. You were such a strong role model for girls. To see you supporting a 'man' with such little regard for women and Zero remorse for his abuse of women (including his babies' mommas) is really a blow."

Jones had an answer for her detractors that she posted on her Twitter account, according to christianpost.com:

"My dad domestically abused my mother. He almost killed her," Jones wrote. "She was in the hospital for months. He served many years in jail. Jesus saved him. He never laid hands on her again.

"God calls us to forgive. We all fall short. We all sin. One sin is not less than another. It is not my job to judge but to forgive and love. "God's judgements (sic) reigns higher. So you can ask how can I post a picture with him," she wrote. "And I say, 'if I can't take a picture with him I (guess) I should remove the pictures of my dad in my home as well."
