Other than an appearance with one-time crush Justin Bieber at a celebrity tennis match, little has gone right for Eugenie Bouchard in 2015.

Perhaps she has Bieber fever ... or a Bieber curse.

Eugenie Bouchard draws backlash for her refusal to shake hands with Alexandra Dulgheru before a Fed Cup event

Yahoo! Sports reported that Bouchard, the world's No. 6 player, lost her sixth match in a row, getting bounced in the opening round of the Mutua Madrid Open on Sunday at the hands of Barbora Strycova.

Bouchard had a 6-0, 3-1 lead against the 22nd-ranked Strycova, who had entered Sunday with a three-match losing streak of her own. And then the wheels fell off again for the 21-year-old Canadian.

Strycova won 11 of the last 14 games to send Bouchard's record to 2-7 under new coach Sam Sumyk and 6-8 overall in 2015. After reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in January, Bouchard has flopped as spectacularly as she impressed last season when she reached the finals of the French Open and the semifinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Bouchard, who revealed to the world in a post-match interview at the 2014 Australian Open that she had a crush on the pop star, played doubles alongside Bieber in early March.

She won two matches at Indian Wells the following week and then the losing started.

The low point of her slump actually was off the court. She played for Canada in its Fed Cup tie against Romania. During a news conference before the tie, she infamously waved off Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru when Dulgheru went to shake hands with her.

Dulgheru proceeded to win her match against Bouchard, and immediately after match point ran to her Romanian teammates extending her hand only to pull it away at the last moment in what appeared to be mocking of Bouchard's behavior.

Bouchard lost both her matches in the Fed Cup and then skipped a tournament in Stuttgart, Germany to get in more practice for Madrid. She'll play in one more match before the start of the French Open on May 25.
