The third day of the 2015 WGC-Cadillac Match Play came to a close on Friday, with Rory McIlroy advancing to the knockout rounds after a 20-hole bout with Billy Horschel.

The same cannot be said for Jordan Spieth. The reigning Masters champion was eliminated after losing to Lee Westwood, two down. Below is a recap of the third day's events (via PGA Tour).

What They're Saying

Rory McIlroy: "It was either hole it or go home, so just made a really committed stroke, and picked my line, and it was obviously the best putt of the whole day. I'm very proud of myself with how I came back, being two down with two to play and being able to get the win. It wasn't one of my best performances. I did what I needed to do and that's basically what I've done over the past three days."

Billy Horschel: "That's the way things go. It was unfortunate because I played really good today."

Brendan Grace: "If you miss it, you're probably going to go another hole, and it might go for nine holes. You never know how far it's going to go, so you just have to take it in your own hands and go for it."
