Canadian born, Kansas-bound star recruit Andrew Wiggins admits he would like to spend his NBA days playing for his hometown Toronto Raptors.

Wiggins, widely projected as the top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, told the Toronto Sun he feels such a scenario would be his way of giving back to his home folk.

“I want to play for them,” said Wiggins told reporters this week while receiving the Gatorade High School Athlete of Year Award. “I would say the Raptors is where I want to be.”

In the meantime, Wiggins assured all he is ready for his freshman season at Kansas, where he says he envisions himself winning a national championship.

Considered by many to be the best teenage prospect since LeBron James, Wiggins, 18, averaged 23.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game for Hunington Prep High School in West Virginia.

Proving that he is a student of the game as well, Wiggins told reporters he considers Kobe Bryant among the best individual talents in the game and someone he would love to play one-on-one and Michael Jordan the greatest player of all time.

Wiggins’ father, Mitchell, played six NBA seasons, including for Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in 1983.
