The NFL draft is just over 48 hours away now, and many are anxiously awaiting the start of the draft to see how the top will shake out. Multiple future stars could be among the first five picks, including two potential franchise quarterbacks. And the star power at the top could lead to some wild trades from teams picking later in the round that want to move up to get a franchise cornerstone.

Marcus Mariota To Become Draft Bust?

Many expect that Jameis Winston will go first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That leaves the fate of reigning Heisman winner Marcus Mariota up in the air. He could go second, he could slip, or he could land with a a contender, as multiple teams reportedly want to move up to draft him.

Regardless of where he gets drafted, he will receive a nice payday, and it will go nicely with the paydays that he is already racking up in sponsorship deals. Mariota has signed deals with Nike and Subway, and now he has added another one to the list.

Tony Romo Guarantees Super Bowl Win For Dallas?

Jameis Winston is also receiving some deals, but Mariota really seems to be killing him on the endorsement front. It seems fair to wonder if Mariota's personal history, which is sterling when measured against Winston's, is the difference in the minds of sponsors.

Everybody wants the best players, but they also want likable players that fans will look up to. Given the choice between an occasionally cocky player with a history of legal troubles or a soft-spoken hard worker whose teammates all revere him, many would probably prefer the latter.

And that could be exactly why Mariota is racking up endorsement deals while Winston is lagging behind in comparison.
