Adrien Broner, a 23-year-old four-division champion boxer, has flashed prodigious skill inside the ring, but a knack for igniting controversy outside the squared circle.
The promotion for Broner's most recent bout with Paulie Malignaggi for the WBA Welterweight championship turned very ugly at times, with both fighters resorting to disparaging remarks about each other, their sex lives, and sexual orientation.
The young and brash Broner continued his wild behavior by posting a video of himself in a restroom at an unspecified Popeye's restaurant while on the America's Most Wanted rap tour.
The tour features Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and T.I. as Broner mentions in the video. Broner also declares himself a rapper, citing that as a reason why he isn't worried about who his next opponent in the ring will be. He also laughs several times and says, "Y'all broke!" to no one in particular.
Much of the video consists of Broner rambling or making odd faces into his phone, but the real surprise comes after he leans to the side to wipe himself. Broner stands and points his camera in the direction of the bowl, where several $20 bills can be seen inside the toilet.
In total, it looks like $80 are inside the toilet, along with the toilet paper, when he flushes it all down the drain to prove how much cash he has to spare.
Clearly Broner is doing well for himself, although his spotless 27-0 record has been called into question on account of his quality of opponents. Malignaggi was the best fighter he had faced in his career, but former welterweight champ Shane Mosley said the "Magic Man" was a "perfect" opponent for Broner to step up in weight against, because he lacks punching power.
There have been rumors that Marcos Maidana, a hard-punching 140-lb. fighter could be next up for Broner, but only time will tell.
